Workplace Injury Early Intervention Bendigo
Why is early intervention so important following a workplace injury?
Prevention is always better than a cure when it comes to workplace injuries. Another way to consider it is that proactively trying to prevent workplace injuries is preferable to needing to react to them. However, even with the best proactive measures in place, sometimes workplace injuries still occur.

The question then becomes, as an organisation, how do you minimise the consequences associated with a workplace injury and help get your employee back to work fully fit as soon as possible?

The answer to this is early intervention following injury. How a workplace injury is managed in the first 72 hours following injury is the most influential factor determining (1) whether the employee will make a full recovery without lingering psychological and physical impairments, and (2) how long this full recovery will take.

With this in mind, as soon as a workplace injury occurs, you as an organisation should be seeking expert advice to guide the management of your injured employee.

Bendigo WHS offers this service both in person, whereby we will attend your workplace to provide you and your employee with an immediate diagnosis of the injury and a management plan, and remotely, whereby we can provide a management plan only.
Please note that an in person consultation is always the preferable option, as it is not possible to diagnose many musculoskeletal injuries without a physical assessment. However, if your workplace is in a remote location and an immediate site visit is not practical, a remote consultation to provide an immediate management plan is still effective, and an in-person visit can be arranged for as soon as possible.
